Presenter

Dr. Merrilee "Mizzy" Gietz was raised and educated in Alberta, Canada. She has taught ASL as a first language (L1) and followed an ASL curriculum for young deaf students. At Lamar, she currently teaches ASL as a second language (L2).  Dr. Gietz presents ASL workshops at national and state levels on ASL and interpreting issues. Dr. Gietz has made conference and workshop presentations on topics such as ASL haikus, ASL depictions, and various topics related to ASL teaching and interpreting.
