[Video description: two narrators signing to the camera. They are standing on the second floor in a building with brick pillars and open space, letting in a lot of natural light through numerous windows. The narrator in the left is Topher Gonzalez, a Mexican-American man wearing a short-sleeved black polo shirt and a pair of gray pants with a belt. The narrator in the right is Janice McCann, a Mexican-American woman wearing a gray top (her waist above is only visible in the screen).

Topher: Hi, I’m Topher.

Janice: Hi, I’m Janice. Where are we today?

Topher: We’re here at Hurst Convention Center, where the TSID 2018 conference will be held this June. As you may know, it’s typical to go into workshops and conferences to sit down, listen, leave, and repeat. Well, no more of that so now what is it going to be like?

Janice: There will be discussion sessions, led and facilitated by experts. They will be sharing ideas and bringing in thought-provoking and introspective discussions. This is so people can begin self-introspection, realize more about the communities we serve and everyone’s impact. We serve all varieties of communities: DeafDisabled, DeafBlind, Deaf and Hard of Hearing but does that mean all the individuals are same? No. It’s important to have that kind of understanding.

Topher: The plan is an all-day session for all interpreters and students on the first day (Wednesday) to learn and immerse together. The next two days (Thursday and Friday) will have multiple different sessions and different topics for further immersion and introspection. Saturday morning will have multiple sessions. As for Saturday afternoon,…

Janice: There will be a TSID business meeting on Saturday afternoon. If you’re not a member yet, come and join us!

Topher: Come!

Janice: Then on Saturday night, we will have a banquet to dress nicely and enjoy the dinner together. There will be a Keynote speech. The speaker will be a surprise!

Topher: The general agenda for the TSID 2018 conference is posted on the website: tsidconference.org. See you here!
