Workshop Synopsis: Interpreters and other professionals often work in silos, which can limit opportunities for collaboration-based professional growth and problem solving. One tool to address this phenomenon is the Community of Practice (CoP). This interactive workshop will explore the benefits of establishing a CoP and how to make it productive, sustainable, and successful. You will also be given the opportunity to apply the principles discussed and create one of your own.

Presenter Bio:  15 year veteran interpreter, Randy Thuesen has enjoyed working in a host of settings and gaining rich professional experiences. His passion, however, lies in aiding others to reach their professional potential. While Mr. Thuesen has taught at Lonestar College’s ITP for the past 12 years, he is also fond of coaching fellow interpreters and interpreter students to hone their craft. After earning the National Interpreter Certification, he pursued a life as a volunteer educator, returned to Texas and earned the BEI Master certification.
