Workshop Synopsis: Interpreters everywhere play a part in the community from a county or municipal level to an international level.  In this workshop we will learn how to unpack the identities we carry, understand the amount of impact we have on the decisions that we make, and how we can apply that impact in a positive way.

 

Bio: Jose “Frank” Peralez III is a Rio Grande Valley native. He moved to San Antonio, TX where he received his A.A.S. in American Sign Language – Sign Language Interpreting and A.A. in American Sign Language from San Antonio College in 2013. Frank works in a variety of settings including K-12, post-secondary, medical, conference, theatrical, vacation excursions and Video Relay.  Frank is also a full-time student through the online program at William Woods University. He currently resides in Houston, TX where he continues to interpret, develop workshops, mentor students and works with a variety of organizations. When not working, he can be found spending time with his loving husband, Dez, and their dog, Newt Scamander.
