Barbara M. Lazard-Hernandez is an Assistant General Counsel for DARS.  She has served in this position at DARS for the past 6 years, with an additional 2.5 years as an Assistant General Counsel at DARS’ predecessor agency, the Texas Rehabilitation Commission (TRC). She serves as the primary legal counsel to DARS’ BEI and DHHS, and provides legal counsel on vocational rehabilitation services issues, as well as agency rules and other DARS program areas.  She received her B.S.B.A. from the University of Denver and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
