Presenter

Melissa is the new Outreach Development Specialist for the Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.  Previously, she was the Deafness Resource Specialist (RS) for Northeast Texas.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Mary Hardin Baylor University and later graduated from the Collin County Community College ITP.  She began her involvement with the deaf by taking sign language in high school.  Her work as a Deafness RS increased her awareness, knowledge and abilities in deafness/hearing loss and advocacy needs for communication access.  She is a Texas BEI Level III interpreter.
