Presenter

Mary Thumann is a nationally certified interpreter who has worked for over 25 years in education, community, medical, and business settings. Mary worked as a staff interpreter for 8 years at Gallaudet University, taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Interpretation for 7 years, and currently teaches in the Department of Linguistics. Mary has also presented workshops at the national level (RID, ASLTA, and CIT) and the local level (DC, VA, KY, NC). Workshop topics include Identifying Depiction; Who is Doing What in Blends; Interpreting in Educational Settings; and ASL to English for Codas.
