Presenter

Originally from California, Sonja began signing while playing water polo with Deaf girls.  After high school graduation, she moved to Waco, Texas to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education at Baylor University.  During her last year in college, she moved to Austin to fulfill the internship requirements of her degree.  Sonja taught Deaf Education briefly before deciding to become a freelance interpreter. She holds RID, NIC, and BEI-Master certifications and is currently pursuing a BEI Court certification.  When not working, she enjoys cooking and playing with her pugs, Percy and Zoe.
