Deaf since age four, Pamela was mainstreamed through college in a time before ADA or interpreter assistance. After a 23-year hiatus to raise her four children, she returned to college to pursue her BA  in Communication Studies, this time using interpreters. She is a Deaf Guide with Texas Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side program, a mentor for Cochlear Implant candidates both through her personal ENT office and through Advanced Bionics, and a mentor for Deaf parents with hearing children. She is passionate about improving relationships through effective communication and improving relationships between interpreters and their clients.
