Doug is well-known nationally as a presenter, consultant, advocate, interpreter and supporter in the area of persons who are deaf/hard of hearing/deafblind. He was the 2011 recipient of the Boyce R. William Award from ADARA (their highest level of recognition); the 2012 Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf (TSID) President’s Award and in 2013 received a Presidential Award from the Texas Association of the Deaf (TAD) – all in acknowledgment of his years of work for the communities of persons who are deaf and deaf/blind, persons who are interpreters and with persons who are hard of hearing.
