Court Interpreter Mentoring-Creating a Plan

Acting as a friend, a teacher, and a guide to the real world, mentors have the opportunity to encourage and advise students by sharing their own experiences and knowledge of the interpreting profession.  Developing a mentor program is one way to formalize the relationship between individuals in a profession and another individual/student who wish to become that professional. This session will assist mentors in development and organization of a court interpreter mentoring program, taking into consideration the DARS Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing mentoring requirements for court interpreters, to assist students with their career development and transition into the court interpreting profession.

*Note: This is a six hour workshop. While it is recommended you attend both parts, CEUs will be awarded independently. You do not have to attend both sessions to earn CEUs.
