Religious Interpreting: Superlatively Singing Sign
This interactive group session is geared to educate and encourage all levels of ASL students and interpreters, to effectively interpret religious vocabulary, religious songs, and Scripture.
Students will learn the literal meaning of religious vocabulary, scripture, and songs to understand the most accurate meaning and ways to creatively sign/interpret them in performance and/or worship services.
The session initially begins in a lecture format, but much of the time will include gesture exercises and other group activities, with the goal of understanding rules, syntax, vocabulary, and religious interpreting etiquette.
