Follow The Yellow Brick TOAD??: Listening Beyond the Words
Listening includes so much more than hearing, yet in our rush to get to the point, or the rush to predict – our lack of tools affects the message. How do we enhance our listening? What is the role of intuitive and inferential listening? What is your response to conflict? These and many more questions will be answered during this workshop.
The participant will practice “active listening” vs. passive listening allowing for only word-for-word translations.
We will share in large groups, and split off into smaller groups with varied years of experience. Sharing different styles of listening, we will discuss linear vs. visual listening, time referencing (not referring to past/present/future) and directional focus. That is before we get into cognitive tools, which also enhance our listening capacity.
