Transition from an ITP to the Real World

This interactive session will provide pre-certified interpreters with information to prepare for the outside world of interpreting. Topics to be covered include, but are not limited to, where to find work as a "new to the job" interpreter, how to connect with interpreter agencies, liability insurance needs, how to handle conflicts of interest with self-employment contracts and contracts working for/through an interpreter agency, when to advocate or not to advocate, and more. Participants will be provided with tools to aid their test taking skills as they prepare for the BEI Test of English Proficiency and performance exams.
