Résumés & CVs: How to effectively document and portray YOUR work./Cómo documentar y representar SU trabajo efectivamente.
As an ASL Interpreter, we are in a unique position where we often seek out and obtain work based on personal networks and skill levels. We may find that résumés, applications, and interviews are mere formalities and that, ultimately, it is often about who you know and what you can do. This workshop will explore the importance of the résumé and CV and why it is important for the working interpreter to appropriately document their work, whether it be for advancing the professionalism of the field or obtaining a corporate job. Participants will learn about the various functions of résumés and CVs, stylistic differences, and have the chance to develop their own résumés while working in groups and receiving feedback from presenters, both in English and in Spanish.
