Deaf Interpreters and Hearing Interpreters in the Legal System (ASL ONLY - NO VOICE INTERPRETER)

This workshop will focus on how deaf interpreters and hearing interpreters can work together in the legal system. There will be a discussion on how to have deaf interpreters present with hearing interpreters in the legal system, and the importance of having this team of interpreters to be effective in working with deaf consumers. Participants in this workshop will learn how to work with a deaf interpreter team by practicing different ways to understand each other throughout the process.  There will be activities for workshop participants regarding how to sign certain legal terminology, pacing, team practice, and cues. This workshop will be presented in ASL ONLY - NO VOICE INTERPRETER.
