Workshop

Great horny-toadies! Ya hammer-head halibut! Tools for respectful and professional conversation within the interpreting community

Anyone who has ever had to deal with a teammate or co-worker who seems to be “addicted to the drama” knows that it can be a challenge for even the most mild-mannered interpreter. How do you have those sticky conversations with people that remain professional but still productive? This workshop is designed to provide tools to talk about violated expectations in a way that solves problems, sets up the necessary boundaries that support improved working relationships. You will learn techniques that distinguish facts from assumptions, make conversations safe, establish mutual goals and if necessary establish professional boundaries. This workshop will utilize real world interpreting examples.
